1. Create that extra effect:

Your customers will probably buy your product for free delivery, return policy or if your website loads faster rather than normal product features.

In a time when there're more than 100 websites for any particular item, you need to make sure your item is unique enough if at all you want to drive sales.

In general, I prefer to buy from amazon as I can track when my product will arrive and I can also exchange or return the products if I don't like it. Probable I will never use these features but still it gives me an special treatment which other sites doesn't.

2. Product is the marketing:

In the book "Purple Cow" by Seth Godin, the writer states that your product need to be so unique that it can market for itself. In simple words, create a simple product then just create any aspect of it different from normal.

Examples from real market: When google launched its search engine their USP was simplicity. Yahoo did it all wrong by filling up the homepage and confused the user.

Apple products are the best example one can ever see in the history of mp3 players.

For example: if you create a table, probably create it with 3 legs. If everyone is creative a rectangular shape table probably you need to create a hexagonal shaped table. If people design a table that doesn't move, you should design a table with wheels or which can be folded or which has space for putting water glasses. Or which comes with a inbuilt rackspace or joint chairs.

3. Partner a store for your launch:

When you do the marketing this way, all you need to do is launch the product in a specific way probably in partnership with some store or some website. As soon as the product is launched it should be able to make the sale. If its able to do that your job is half done. Now, all you need to do is setup marketing channels or better let me all it marketing funnels.

4. Add a story to your product:

Your buyer must remember you/ your store in order to buy from it again or even visit your store again.

Your buyer never buys from your store in the first visit. So, make sure he visits the store again.

5. Personalization for specific users:

Your product should not be backpack for everyone. Rather it should be 20'6'' ultralite backpack for travellers. This way all the travellers know that the product is specifically designed for them.

6. Sell your expertise:

Your buyer don't buy your product, they buy your expertise in that domain. Adding some field experts in your team and giving the users an opportunity to chat with that expert multiplies the chance of selling your product by a 2 or 3 times.

How Not to Market Your Product:

We all know how to market the product while what is important is how not to market the products. Some of the ways include:

7. Lowering down price is not marketing.

Never lower the price of your product to get sales. That just never qualifies as a valid method. It may work sometimes, but that's not a strategy.

8. Never ask your friends and relatives to buy a product

Just let them know about the launch and make them curious enough. They can spread the word better rather than forcibly buying the product.

9. Don't ask everyone for shoutout.

Ask the influencers in your market for a shoutout  rather than requesting just anyone.

10. Sell Lower Price Sample:

Never send out the free samples, Rather than send a lower price prototype at a lower price to reach out a bigger market.

If at all you need to give free samples then give out these products with some other products so that you can cover the cost of the product.
